ETHICS IN THE COMMUNITY

"What are ethics and what does it mean to be ethical? I have no idea"

The programme is divided into the 4 points below:

Universal and Relative values and challenging them.

The impact of environment and culture on ethics.

Moral Court - Small groups prepare arguments around various situations.

The Big Question - Are Ethics something to “live for” or “aim for”?

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Students will have experienced:
  • give a definition of ethics and morals
  • understand the difference between values and beliefs
  • use questioning techniques to explore ethical issues
  • develop greater confidence to express their own views
  • appreciate and understand different viewpoints


AIMS & OBJECTIVES:
To encourage students to think for themselves about important issues from their own and others’ perspectives.

To stimulate debate about key issues and the ethical questions surrounding these topics. This workshop will give the students a deeper appreciation and understanding of ethics.
