CROSS CULTURAL AWARENESS
“Vive la difference”
Prison for giving a teddy the wrong name in Sudan! Blowing your nose could blow the deal in Japan! How did Ghaddafi make Blair the laughing stock of the Arab world without him knowing? and why are Britain and America, two countries divided by a common language? Deported for eating in the street? surely not?
Global economies, global deals, global travel and yet cultures remain the same, centuries old beliefs and traditions persist and having an awareness of what to expect and what to avoid could make quite a difference to your trip or meeting.
People like to hold onto their traditions, it makes them different, and they like people to recognise and respect those beliefs, it doesn't need to be a minefield travelling to far flung places, make it a voyage of discovery and enrichment. Speaking a second language is like having a second soul giving so much insight into the way other people do it.
